I’m thinking about moving to bitwarden (self hosted vault warden) for password management. Currently paying for 1Password.

What are some “gotchas” that I should watch out for? I’m planning to have it run on my synology nas in a docker container for now.

@Jeff the main problem with a self hosted password manager is how are you going to access it when you are not home?

@ithoughtisawa2 @Jeff passman + nextcloud, keepass(something)+cloud storage. On those you have an offline copy for when connectivity to homelab is an issue. Also working in mobile.
I know bitwarden have an app but not sure how "offlineable" it can be

@infodon @ithoughtisawa2 But the way that bitwarden works is that it syncs vs streams. The passwords are always available on your device even when you’re offline.
