@toddalio there was very limited Sunday shopping (never mind holidays) in Nova Scotia when I lived there for precisely that reason: so that people could be with their families.

@nxskok Ontario had the same thing. No Sunday shopping until about 1993, or 1994 I think.

@toddalio I think NS has Sunday shopping too now, but it was certainly limited (by size of store) in 2000 when I lived there.
