Apple in 2025: The Six Colors report card

It’s time for our annual look back on Apple’s performance during the past year, as seen through the eyes of writers, editors, developers, podcasters, and other people who spend an awful lot of time…

@jsnell Craig Federighi is probably one of the most beloved executives at Apple, but macOS, which falls under his area of responsibility, has been a huge disappointment to so many lately.

I wonder if the macOS disappointment will eventually rub off on Federighi?

@jsnell I love my Apple Vision Pro, but I am a developer and love creating for it. I can see why the general public would be so disappointed. The paucity of content is painful. (Hopefully, Alex can help turn that around.)

My fear is that there might not be a champion for the visionOS platform who will fight for resources inside Apple, provide strategic direction, and inspire the troops.

@jsnell This is great - and matches my overall feelings about Apple's direction. Amazing hardware, stable OS, but a lot of problems with software.
@jsnell Great to see Gabe Weatherhead. I still miss macdrifter
