Rain is continuous, where showers are from individual clouds
So if there's rain in Dublin, every where in the county has wet stuff falling from the sky
But if there's showers, it might only be in say drumcondra, and santry & city centre could be dry
@ColmDonoghue Yes, I'm aware there are meteorological definitions and differences between various forms of precipitation and the like - rain, showers, drizzle, mist, etc.
But all most of us mere plebs just need to know about it is will there be water falling from the sky onto our heads.
