It's been a few months. Wondering if there are any other holdouts?

Have you knowingly had #covid19, ever?

Note: I'm aware false results exist. Choose the "I guess" options if you didn't test and that's, well, your best guess.

Since I can't vote in my own poll, my example would be: even though I've not had any respiratory or related symptoms, I regularly test with rapid tests and the PlusLife system and so far have always come up negative.
@larsmb I answered "no, I guess" because I only test if I have a reason to test, so could have missed something asymptomatic. Only an antibody test (against markers that aren't in the vaccinations) would say for sure.

A tangential observation - the last few times I posted a similar poll, I got hundreds of votes and many boosts.

Seems even the #Fediverse has lost interest in covid19 still being a thing.

(I relate. I wish it wasn't, too.)

@larsmb I'm fully vaxxed plus several boosters and also had COVID at least 3 times confirmed with tests, every time with minimal symptoms (basically just a bit of a sore throat). I'm also in the privileged position that whenever I show symptoms or suspect I got COVID (or anything else) I can just work from home. If it's worse than a sore throat I can just give the doctor a call and get a sick note for a week, no need to go to the doctor's office and/or get tested. So yes I don't really care about COVID anymore because it has no real impact on my life. I do still care in that when I got symptoms I isolate for a few days or as long as they last, but I don't even test anymore because it doesn't really matter if it's COVID or something else, I don't want to infect anyone else either way.
@gollyhatch I mean, every single infection rolls the dice on LongCovid with disadvantage, but sure
@larsmb I don't know about that as I'm not a doctor, but it's kinda out of my control anyway. I can only control how many people I infect if/when I got COVID by isolating myself, which I do. In order to protect myself from any further COVID infections I guess I'd have to lock myself in for the rest of my life, which, given the very mild symptoms of the previous times, seems like a bad trade-off.
@larsmb I have had light symptoms recently while people around me had positive c19 test while mine was negative, so I guess I had it.
@larsmb I never know how to answer this because I was very sick the week before lockdown 2020 but not as bad as those who were hospitalized.

@larsmb I answered "No, backed by tests" because both times I've had respiratory symptoms since March 2020, PCR-quality tests said it wasn't COVID; I also take very stringent mitigation measures (e.g. always always always mask indoors around other people, even now). (For the first illness, in about June 2020, I have no idea where I caught it. For the second, I'm pretty sure I caught it outside near a big crowd of runners at a time when flu levels were very high.)

On the other hand, it is *possible* that the cold I had in London in Feb 2020 was COVID-19. It is possible that despite the strict mitigation measures that Spouse and I take, I got an asymptomatic infection. (I do not test if I don't have any symptoms.)

@larsmb I've never had any COVID combinations of symptoms. Whenever I've had any slight cold, which is very rare for me aside from snotty tree pollen hay fever, I've tested and never had one positive. When a slight cold happens I generally test every few days until symptoms are gone as I don't really trust a single test point. Usually this results in two tests as most things clear up in a day or two. A slight cold for me is generally a bit more nose blowing than usual. I can't remember having a sore throat, headache, no energy etc since childhood.

That said I don't test routinely therefore I could have had COVID asymptomatically on one or more occasions. I've not voted however i suppose I'm in the guess no category due to the possibility of asymptomatic infection.

@larsmb Well, I still had a positive test result from October 2022 in my archives. Don't know if it was a false positive. As far as I remember it wasn't that bad then. But since there are no testing sites now and there weren't at the beginning, it is quite possible that I had it before and after. 🤷
@HeptaSean You can test at home with (good) rapid antigen tests, or something like the PlusLife test, if available :)
@larsmb Well, we still have some combined Influenza-CoViD-RSV tests lying around, but rarely use them anymore and they have expired December 2024. Not really worth it, anymore, in a way.
@HeptaSean Testing if symptomatic (b/c certain medications reduce the risk of Long/PostCovid), before meeting at-risk people (e.g., others) in riskier situations still makes sense.
@larsmb Staying at home with symptoms (if at all possible) makes total sense to me. Given that we know by now that all of these respiratory viruses can have severe outcomes if you are unlucky, my conclusion is that we were a bit too lenient with them before Corona, but also that I don't care too much which of them it is.

@HeptaSean Somewhat fair (and everyone has their own calculus), but SARS-CoV-2 >> Influenza >> (probably RSV >>) Random Rhinitis.

But yeah, my plan is also to continue avoiding them all if I can :)

@larsmb I managed to avoid it until January 2025. Just the once.
@larsmb fully vaxed and boosted, took tests whenever mandatory or feeling unwell, never got a positive one.
still going out masked when expecting crowds (e.g. supermarket).
@larsmb
The only time I was activelly testing myself was when my son had it and we were (voluntarily as it was no longer manatory in CZ) three weeks in a quarantine. All my PCR and AG results were negative and I felt great. However as others around me got sick later on I am sure I had it too. Had two shots of Pfizer a few months before that.
@larsmb no, I haven't been sick.
@larsmb Never been symptomatic but I guess statistically I've probably had maybe three or four asymptomatic infections by now? Maybe more? Maybe a lot more? I try to be careful but I live with people who aren't.
