Having one of those days where I've done a few reasonably energetic things, such as unload/load the dishwasher, swapped the TV onto a new cabinet, and tidied up a little bit, and now I'm completely and utterly wiped. Zero spoons.

Going to try heading out into the timid afternoon sunshine we've got here. We're going to visit one of the two ruined abbeys that are within a twenty minute drive. Take some photos and see how the rest of the afternoon goes.

Well, the sunshine ended up being not that timid.

I've lived across the river from Netley Abbey for half my life, but never visited it until today. It's really cool. Saw a buzzard too, but didn't get a photo.

I know what you #Mosstodon folks want, and it's bloody disgusting.
And you #Bloomscrolling types; degerates, all.

After we left Netley Abbey, we mooched over to Weston Shore, where we watched Queen Victoria sail by.

It's always kind of odd seeing her, given that I worked aboard her for two months, back in 2011.

There were also more swans than I've ever seen in one place. Truly, a bastard of swans.

@DJDarren the sun *is* a nuclear explosion, old chap.

Just a very long way away!

@DJDarren - Sounds like you don't lichen them.
@DJDarren I'm lichen this content.
@DJDarren omg. How I miss blue skies.
@DJDarren I washed the car. Frankly, I deserve a Nobel Prize for that 😀
@WiteWulf @DJDarren Blimey. I considered washing the car for all of two minutes, then had a stern word with myself and changed plans. You're clearly stronger than I am!
@MintSpies @DJDarren it wasn’t because it was dirty; it was covered in bird and squirrel shit after some unfortunate parking choices.
@WiteWulf @DJDarren mine is growing a decent layer of algae, and moss in all of the window rubbers - personally I think of this as a method of carbon offsetting, and it's possibly carbon neutral by this point in the plant development cycle. The older daughter, just about to start driving lessons, disagree with me - I reckon she can wash it!
