✈️ πŸš‚ πŸš— Planes, Trains and Automobiles (and a cable car!) 🚑

Old cars taken for one last drive and dumped in forests. Cable cars left in silent stations. Soviet-era planes, once gate guardians to old air bases, now just an out-of-place curiosity. Huge rusting steam trains languishing in old collapsing depots.

@ObsidianUrbex It just occurred to me, looking at these photos, that your descriptions and documentation of these sites could be an invaluable resource for our future descendants. Their scientists may struggle to explain what, and why, these things are. An archeology of the future.

Perhaps all futurism begins with documenting the past.

Just a pre-coffee thought this morning.

@JeanieBurrell
Thats a good pre coffee thought! I think this is why I like to write my website articles, so all my work has context and history. I think it's an important part of it ☺️

@ObsidianUrbex "It's...it's...a Volvo," the alien scientist said reverently, touching the rusting frame. It/they consulted their orb. "They once roamed this planet in many forms, millions of them. These are some of the earliest of their kind. See," it/they said, "the ancient blogs say so."

Their students ululated, dancing with joy. Later they would sit together around the solar furnace, singing songs in this sacred place.

A silly glass-of-fake-wine story. πŸ˜†

@JeanieBurrell
Haha I can see this happening in the future 🀣
