Sunday afternoon bushwalk in the Dandenong ranges along sassafras creek. Forest is pretty dry after this summer. It started raining during the walk and the humidity shot right up, love walking in temperate rain forest when it’s warm and raining. Hope it rains gently for days, it needs it.

Massive Mountain Ash came down sometime over the summer and it looks like it exploded when it hit the ground, stretches from one side of the valley across the creek and up the other side. #bushwalking #DandenongRanges

A couple of pics of the natural spring near the trail. I usually fill up my life straw bottle when I know I’m passing, but today it was a spur off the moment Bushwalk do had left it at home.

@Gracchus
What’s beautiful place. I hope you didn’t get as much as we did.
@feather1952 nothing like what you are getting up there. Hopefully it puts out a few of the fires still burning.
@Gracchus
🀞🏼🀞🏼 - I hadn’t realised some were still burning.

@Gracchus

So gorgeous, sigh...

(Used to live up in the 'Nongs, and it's a rare day when I don't miss the hills, even though I try to get up there every couple of weeks still.)

I hear you, my wife says it’s the only place she sees me truly relaxed. It’s like I cross an invisible line and all my cares wash away and an unconscious smile appears.
