This was the aftermath of a bad ice storm years ago. Walking through here was a bit dicey, but dogs needed exercise...

This is farther down that trail.

Walking along sidewalks wasn't any safer. It is a lovely treed area. Walking under trees, one could hear creaks and when a branch would just let go could not be predicted. Many walked in the streets to avoid the threat.

Beauty in the devastation.

@CStamp I'm glad none of those came down on you.

@ZenHeathen Yeah. I did learn how unexpectedly branches could just drop, with no warning, and didn't spend much time under branches.

One of the most memorable things to me was being without power in what seemed a war zone, then driving into the city, hitting the Beaches, all the traffic lights were suddenly on, and it seemed an entirely different world. :)

This was part of the bad ice storm that hit Ontario and Quebec. There are more images here, if of interest: http://www.girafxmedia.com/escape/?p=2911

And the lights went out… | escape

@CStamp I was in Kingston for the weekend when it arrived, and had to drive back to Toronto before it was over. Memorable, to be sure.
Just the tiniest bit of colour in there!
