After extensively listening to Angine de Poitrine, I can't listen to normal music anymore. They use custom microtonal guitars (24edo), and so they hit notes that normal guitars don't. Couple that with ingenious ways to make their jumps from 4/4 to 6/12/etc and still sounding harmonic, you just can't go back to plain 4/4 pop/rock music. It's too boring.

Masters of their craft. They're the future of music.

Thanks, I love-hate it.

They’re doing a thing I’ve long disliked (in my family’s typical pedantic way), but they’re doing it with such brilliant artistry & whimsy that I nonetheless find it compelling.

You may have ruined me.

Dammit.

Now it reminds me of a story. My brother (2y older) & I were very musical teens, attending Oak Hill Baptist in Columbia Heights, MN.

A hymn we liked. Older guy in front of us clapping on 1 & 3. We clapped two 8ths on 2, & 8th triplets on 4…

@eugenialoli
Partway through the song, the guy in front of us snapped his head around & snarled, “Our God is not a God of CONFUSION!”

Now I’m hoping he’s in hell, forced to watch this YouTube video for eternity. (An insincere overstatement for humor.)
