Tired but can't fall asleep. 😇 Gotta listen to some calming sounds then.

Background Noises • Ambient Sounds • Relaxing Music | myNoise ®

myNoise sets the standard for online background noise machines and interactive soundscapes.

@TallSimon @nina_kali_nina @mynoise He also did Purrli, a dedicated cat purr generator: https://purrli.com/

though I must say that I was slightly disappointed to discover that it uses recordings of cats, rather than being a parametric model of a cat’s voice box.

(I would like to see a purely algorithmic cat purr synthesiser, because I suspect that a frequency-variable cat-like purr would make a good alternative to binaural beats for light/sound brainwave meditation machines)

The Internet has a Cat! Meet Purrli, the online cat purr generator.

Not just a cat purr, but a cat purring next to you. Purrli recreates the sound and the presence of a cat, online. It's soothing, it's free, and it's purrfect!

@acb @TallSimon @nina_kali_nina The recordings it uses are very particular though ;) The purr is resynthesized; just not simple sample playback.
@mynoise @acb @TallSimon thanks for making it, it's comfy and it works great for bamboozling my cat

@nina_kali_nina @mynoise @acb Mine have learned that monkey-Dad's magic window just makes that noise every now and then and it's not a feline Kaiju come to eat everyone.

(Although little black stray does check the surroundings just to be sure.)
