Another one from Kew Gardens, this time of the Great Pagoda, described on Wikipedia as a "supreme example of Chinoiserie", or the weird late-18th century obsession with "oriental" art and architecture amongst the wealthy in England.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess.

@coldkennels fun trivia, I rented a flat about 200m from that pagoda. Next to Jew there's a rugby club, and just passed the field there are some houses on the road into Richmond. I was ground floor of the third house.
@tmcfarlane That had to be a weird thing to look out your window at every day. Lovely neighbourhood, though.
@coldkennels it was cool. Especially bonfire night (back before I hated fireworks). This was about 2004.
