Does anyone know how fast the light meter on an om1n fails if you're using an active mr9 cell adapter (with an sr43) ? I've done 4 rolls in 4 days and just noticed that my meter is 2 stops under. I'm not sure if I've just pulled all four rolls 2 stops. (3 are c41 I'll be sending off for processing). I usually turn my meter off overnight, and the camera is in my closed bag when not in use.

The Old Guy's Rant about Developers

After that extended comparison of D-23 and Acufine in the the travel series that I just finished posting, I think it might be time for a repeat of my views on developers for people just beginning to develop their own b&w film or planning soon to do so.

Playing around with different developers is a lot of fun. But at the beginning, it can distract you from the basics and retard your mastery of b&w film photography.

People seem mystified that CGI was so good 20 years ago. We hit photo realistic CGI probably 25 years ago. The key difference between then and now is that we decided to stop paying proper money to effects teams and went for a race to the bottom instead. (that and decided to chronically over use them for everything).
If anyone wants to buy me a Shen Hao 4x5 I'd be fine with that. Just thought I'd mention it (as long as it's one of the hzx ones with all the movements).
Alternatively, if you want to just give me a Chamonix F2 I wouldn't mind if it was a bit used.
Really, I'd be OK either way.
The next logical step on the #ai narrative (especially around Mythos), is to say that we shouldn't actually be allowing humans to write code anymore. AI can write code and AI can find vulnerabilities, so surely it's safer to let the computers do it?
In reality I do not believe #ai is doing either of those things nearly as well as being touted, yet the voices are loud, and the markets have spoken.
I need to work out how to get the fuck off of this train.

...and on a similar note, how about I am Not an Animal, a group of gentrified medical research animals escape from the lab and go on the run (by living together in a house).

My Mastodon bubble is sufficiently small, and yet, perhaps, a similar vintage. I wonder, any of you remember a TV series called Nightingales? Early nineties on Channel 4. It's a bit of a forgotten classic, if you like Father Ted or Black Books, it should give you a chuckle (hard to track down though)

I can't help but worry that the postitivity around the Orban ousting might be a bit misplaced. These trump'ist nut jobs are still doing plenty well enough in Germany, France, Italy and here in the UK.
Thought I'd have a check back in on photrio, still full of absolute gobshites (and some wonderful and helpful people, they they are ratio'ed to fuck, hope for a good answer fast or your thread is going down the drain before you can blink).
