Today's feature is designer Luigi Colani who came up with some pretty wild trucks.

@weirdonwheels

This is the future they took from us.

@weirdonwheels Jeez think of the slurs other truckers were obliged to invent to ridicule the person driving these things.

@weirdonwheels

Putting the "train" in road train. 🤣

@weirdonwheels

Those look like Transformers.

@weirdonwheels Optimus Prime’s evil twin who can also transform into a battery-powered wine opener you can buy from Hammacher Schlemmer.
@weirdonwheels
I have never particularly wanted to be a truck driver until right this moment.
@weirdonwheels They look like Alien critters out of a Pixar movie.
@weirdonwheels There’s a guy who watched The Highwayman (1987) when he was a kid.

@weirdonwheels Oh for anyone wondering, yes that is supposed to be a functional Gazelle helicopter in there, because ofcourse it is, and nevermind that the truck does a u turn at some point without snapping the tailrotor off.

Ahh mid 80s American tv. Guuunz, truuucks, leather, toxic masculinity, dodgy plots and gratuitous injuns. Great stuff when you’re 12 and can’t see the plot holes big enough to turn that truck around in.

@weirdonwheels or rather, the highway man possibly watched him. He and those trucks seem to be a bit older than I assumed.
@weirdonwheels It's Handsome Squidward in truck form 😱
@weirdonwheels He also came up with other things, like a desktop PC case that reboots when you push the keyboard too far forward.. (it had the reset and power buttons directly above the groove where the keyboard was supposed to rest against).

@weirdonwheels: I'm quite sure, I saw the truck from the second picture back then at the place when the photograph was made: That was in Karlsruhe in its fair area on Festplatz between Konzerthaus and Nancy-Halle (you can ready "N___Y HALLE" in the picture) at the same time when LinuxTag took place in Karlsruhe in Juli 2003. The exact point where the truck was standing is here in front of this row of trees: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/49.002477/8.400480

What a flashback. 😊
