@lowtide It's living close enough to the prime surf spots to actually be able to surf regularly that's the issue, not the cost of the boards. I live on the coast of California: $1 million is "normal tract home" money here, not "luxury mansion" money (and no, that's not just true right next to the beach). Far north coast you can get away with half a million for a decent property though (and these two in the picture were surfing in...the far north coast; yep....).
