No one warns you when you adopt a long-haired cat
How many times you’ll vacuum every day
How you’ll see ghostly fur tumbleweeds skitter across the floor
How you’ll get the fine hairs stuck in your eyeballs and on your tongue
How no surface will ever be completely free of cat hair, despite your best efforts

That is the price for all this softness

Happy Thorsday!

@KydiaMusic he's worth that price!
@KydiaMusic 'Lies! Nothing but scurrilous lies!' sez Luna.
@KydiaMusic
Thor! 😻 I love this photo ❤️
@KydiaMusic that and the projectile furball vomit. Always charming.
@KydiaMusic
And that’s one of his many “You know I’m worth it” poses.

@mcmullin

He could do Pantene commercials from the 90s: “Because you’re worth it.”

@KydiaMusic @mcmullin I hate that I understand this.
@KydiaMusic madame that is a throw pillow

@hohokam

He’s like one of those luxury fur pillows:

@KydiaMusic Well, I have a long haired, a short haired and one in between, so go figure...
@KydiaMusic fluffy cats make me wish I wasn't deathly allergic to them.
@KydiaMusic We have 2 of them. Tumblefur city!
@KydiaMusic I recently learned the same lesson ... (Totally worth it, though!)
@KydiaMusic hey, you're getting all those extra layers on your clothes for free in the winter time to help stay warm!
@KydiaMusic our girls' fur felts to most fabric, either forming tiny balls, or sticking in sheets to a chair cushion, like Halloween spider web. I brush them every single day, my sweetie brushes several times a week, and we still have fur everywhere. Totally worth it.
@temporal_spider @KydiaMusic robovacs are brilliant at finding fur! I run mine 5 days a week and it picks up so much.
@VWDasher @KydiaMusic yes, and then we must get out the scissors and clean off the rollers.
@temporal_spider @KydiaMusic I have a Deebot and don't have that issue
@temporal_spider @KydiaMusic brushing them twice a day will help
@FaithinBones @KydiaMusic brushing them once a day is all I can manage on a regular basis.
@temporal_spider @KydiaMusic that's fine. Life can be very busy. I used to own a Persian. I had a glove that had a brush in the palm so when I stroked her I was actually brushing her. She loved it
@KydiaMusic I just raised my acceptance level for hairs on anything, many years ago. 🤷‍♂️

@luc0x61

Ooh you have Halloween cats (the black and orange combo pack)!

@KydiaMusic Plus the red's sister, in between with colors and very shy
@KydiaMusic I dunno, my Norwegian sheds less than my other 3 cats. He's fluffy all year round! Which must suck in the Japanese summer...

@Haikyoneko

Aww what a sweet-looking floof family!

@KydiaMusic worth it, look at that face
@KydiaMusic With Prudence it was a case of bait and switch. I adopted a 4 month old short haired kitten who shortly thereafter developed glorious floof.

@Barbramon1

Hahah the same thing happened to me! I thought Thor was just a very soft little kitten when we adopted him at 5 months, but he kept getting fluffier and fluffier.

Prudence is so beautiful!

@KydiaMusic Well, we don't have the time, we're busy trying to get rid of all the hair!
@KydiaMusic I had a long haired cat once. It was pretty bad. I didn't learn anything cause now I have two huskies.
@KydiaMusic
"Fursday" was right there...
@KydiaMusic No one warns you about diarrhoea in long haired cats.
