It's kinda weird how the "The left hates technology (because AI)" mostly come from people whose experience with tech is on the level of vibecoding and the "left" they criticize consists to a significant part of people who've been actually building and maintaining systems for decades.
Maybe hands-on experience leads to different results then just "idea vibing"?
@tante Mostly, yeah.
There are some exceptions in one direction – people with experience believing in “AI” – some of them kind of tragic.
And there, of course, are always the exceptions in the other direction just opposing “AI” because it is another scary technology they don't understand.
But both are exceptions.
Leftist experienced retired programmer here. ( 40 years in the biz, just turned my Last Laptop in last year, still playing with 3D design, printing, Arduino, etc)
