A hill I will die on: It's "face recognition," not "facial recognition."

You wouldn't say "vocal recognition," would you?

@MagicTony Not quite a hill I’d be willing to die on, but now that you mention it… actually… facial/vocal recognition sounds more like a technique and face/voice recognition sounds like an instance of the technique.

“We used facial recognition to perform face recognition on the suspect.”

@LoneLocust But you still wouldn't say you performed "vocal recognition". I reject your argument. 😉

@MagicTony yes, yes, actually I would. I think it applies equally.

I’m not sure which way is grammatically correct but it “feels“ right when I speak it out loud, which is the technique I use when writing.

I’m a very noisy writer.

@LoneLocust It's not a hill you will die on, but it's one you might get murdered on! 😉
@MagicTony You never said it was a hill you were willing to kill for!
@LoneLocust Hahahahahaha. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Something tells me I'd get pardoned.
@MagicTony @LoneLocust I don't know either of you folks, but this whole interaction is delightful
@unremarkable @LoneLocust I can confirm that Eugene and I are a goddamned hoot in real life, too.
