A hill I will die on: It's "face recognition," not "facial recognition."
You wouldn't say "vocal recognition," would you?

@MagicTony Not quite a hill I’d be willing to die on, but now that you mention it… actually… facial/vocal recognition sounds more like a technique and face/voice recognition sounds like an instance of the technique.
“We used facial recognition to perform face recognition on the suspect.”
@MagicTony yes, yes, actually I would. I think it applies equally.
I’m not sure which way is grammatically correct but it “feels“ right when I speak it out loud, which is the technique I use when writing.
I’m a very noisy writer.
