Once again, the FCC is coming after Colbert. This time they're refusing to allow CBS to air an interview of James Talarico, a Dem Senate candidate from Texas. So we all know what to do, right?
Censoring Colbert and Talarico

The FCC blocked CBS from airing an interview of Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, and Stephen Colbert was none too pleased

@jaykuo

..And I have the privilege of being able to vote for Talarico...as I' have for state office. I've kept him on my radar for years. He's a really decent guy, who happens to be intelligent, with an excellent moral compass and the ability to lead.

@jaykuo no. What are you suggesting?

@UlrikNyman @jaykuo To watch it on YouTube.

CBS won't broadcast it on TV, but it's available on YouTube.

We do not all know what to do, without that information.

@davidculley @jaykuo From the text it was not clear that it was available on YouTube.

My client only showed a YouTube link and not a preview.

@UlrikNyman Yes, that's what I meant to say.
@jaykuo the FCC threatened, it was CBS, now owned by trump's pal who didn't allow him to air the interview

@adrianmester @jaykuo the FCC didn't threaten. the FCC chair mentioned that he was "thinking" about changing the rule; CBS complied in advance, for no required reason whatsoever.

[ EDIT: this is incorrect. The FCC chair said that it should no longer be assumed as "a given" that talk shows were not covered by the rule ]

@jaykuo We need more headlines to lean into right-wing priorities: "Deep State Censors Texas Christian"

@jaykuo

Arrrrr! 🏴‍☠️ I'd like to rent this video. Where can I find the video torrent? 🙈

@jaykuo I thought that prior restraint was absolutely disfavored in speech cases?
@jaykuo
Donald Trump through Brendan Carr through CBS just gave James Talarico an enormous unintentional boost.
@jaykuo they never learn... last time this amplified the message 10 fold with jimmy, this is also going nuts on youtube. How do they think this will go?
@jaykuo Every Dem candidate should file a lawsuit every time a network so much as mentions a GOP politician holding an office they're running for. Make them apply the Equal Time rule this way _all_ the time, not just when it's convenient for them.
@jaykuo How does the "equal time" rule apply to Fox, NewsMax and OAN?
@jaykuo
Put the link in the post.
