#MyMiniFactory has acquired #Thingiverse. Hopefully that makes it independent from a 3D printer brand (it was an UltiMaker product). I hope they will now add CERN-OHL V2 license, the best one suited to supporting 3D printed functional hardware.

I appreciate this approach mentioned in their blog post :
"MyMiniFactory has adopted a zero-tolerance stance on AI generated content on our platform."

@bear_lab
I'll admit there's probably no way the new owners could make Thingiverse worse at this point...

But I have no faith that they will make the improvements necessary, or that even if they did, it would be enough to bring back the users they have already lost to Printables and MakerWorld.

@tomnardi Yeah competition is difficult but to be honest they also have silly/misleading approaches like we have seen yesterday with Printables and the OCL. So I see some "open doors" for Thingiverse. They have also done lots of coding in the last years and the site has improved well. Taking care of AI is definitely a plus compared to the competitors. Will see how it goes, for now I think it's positive and I really hope we can finally have a site where the CERN-OHL license is there by default.
