Always love it when BBEdit can trivially edit a 60MB JSON file and trying it with Xcode just explodes the editor and stops lines rendering

@stroughtonsmith I've fed it log files in the hundreds of MB and it doesn't miss a beat.

It just might be the single app I would miss the most if I had to entirely give up the Mac.

@montyhayter @stroughtonsmith I often do the same with multi-megabyte CSV files that bring Excel, LibreOffice Calc and Apple's spreadsheet app to their knees.
@stroughtonsmith One of many reasons I'm so fond of Sublime Text as well (compared to VS Code and all these other electron editors)
@stroughtonsmith It seems so crazy to me that we have all these amazing APIs for augmented/virtual reality, machine learning, 3D rendering, handwriting recognition and more but plain text? Nope.
@stroughtonsmith Notepad++ can edit log files of 3 GB, but we are not allowed to use it at work any more
@edmundv well… there might be a reason for that 😂
@edmundv Because of the Russia hacking thing?
@stroughtonsmith 60 megabytes of JSON? That’s a *lot* 🙂
@stroughtonsmith it doesn't suck <- finally, truth in advertising

@stroughtonsmith it always made me go rabid when a “text editor” chokes on whatever file I’ve thrown at it. You had one job!

That’s when I learned to always have an hex editor available.
