@mattsheffield Yeah. That is just....and you know what? Trump himself has never been against GLBT people per se. He's always remained rather quiet on the topic. In part because Melania is known to be very entrenched in NYCs fashion scene which...well...is owned by the Chelsea queers. So me thinks someone like Stephen Miller or his Jesus phreaks have more to actually do with this than risking pissing off Melania does. I hate to say that, but...that seeems like a very poor business decision

@praetor @mattsheffield They need the hatred. They need to focus hatred to "the other". It is not trans people per se, not jewish people per se, not palestinians, or whatever. It's "the other" that scares them. If you can get a group of people to hate a certain group you get a powerful movement that ignores what really is going on.
Trans and queer folks are unfortunately the perfect target for their pretty little trad-world.

@mattsheffield I have warned my partners for years to fight for our trans friends or expect to fight on our own turf next.

It will be club raids and closings, police stings on sites like Grindr, park and beach sting operations, the works. If we don't fight now, we'll face every tactic used by the enemy against sex workers and johns and then some.

@mattsheffield I live in a state that's in the white house's pocket (one of the "t" states) and we've been dealing with anti-LGBTQ state legislation since 2015 with a specific target on our trans family. It's horrific what's been happening locally and nationally to our community. We will keep fighting and I thank you for your contribution to resistance. There's so much info suppression happening here. I'll spread the word about this most recent slap in our faces.
