I am also going to win.
@susankayequinn win? Huh, honey in order to even compete you need quality first, not slop.
These Aibooks are getting out of hand. #fuckai
@susankayequinn What does that even mean? Is there a person who is willing to read a new AI generated book every day, or even capable of reading one?

@susankayequinn
I’m definitely not going to win. Won’t stop me trying.

@susankayequinn Where are the testimonies of real people who read these “books” and actually enjoyed the experience?

I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone who reads for pleasure actually enjoys AI slop books.

The lowest common denominator usually doesn’t have a library card.

@thadd IDK what the "lowest common demonimator" is — there's a lot of bias against romance and romance readers that's pretty ugly — but romance readers *definitely* are discerning and have library cards. They just usually can't get their fix—they read a LOT — just from the library. In fact, I'd say romance readers are experts at finding discounted/free books to feed their habit.

And you're exactly right—none of them will come back after they see you're writing AI slop. That's why 20 pennames.

@susankayequinn I wasn’t denigrating romance readers. I was simply saying that when you try to appeal to people who aren’t really thinking about what they consume, those people aren’t typically consuming books.

@thadd I think that's one reason why these *other* companies are exploiting thousands of writers to create a pipeline that they eventually turn into *video* for tiktok and monetize that way... because you're right, a lot of people *aren't* consuming books.

@susankayequinn

I would much rather read a book that had months of careful thought put into it, rather than trivial slop with no heart or soul. 🤷 I hate the way art is reduced to money-making hustle. Fuck that attitude.
