Ordered stickers from #StickerApp. They shipped it with #FedEx, which outsourced it to #Hermes.

Hermes sent me a mail: we can't find your address.

So far, so normal. It happens all the time that delivery services can't find an address. Opened the link: somewhere along the way from StickerApp over FedEx to Hermes they lost the entire street name! Now I'm picturing a lonely Hermes, herald of the gods, standing in the middle of the village and trying to find our house.

Redirected the shipment to a shop nearby. When I picked it up, the address was all mangled, and every German umlaut was a "?".

It is 2026. Is it too much to ask to get umlauts and special characters right when sending the address from one computer system to another?

@ascherbaum yeah, it often feels like the shipping systems around the world are still running on punch card mainframes using EBCDIC
@ascherbaum maybe they just misplaced the card with your street name!
@olasd This seems to happen quite often, given how often everyone gets a mail that the address can't be found ... One would think they can keep better care of their cards.
