I switched from Xfinity to T-Mobile Fiber for Internet just over three weeks ago. In the last 72 hours, I’ve had at most around six to eight hours of total uptime. 😞 Despite the great deal I got (1Gbps for $55/mo), I’m seriously regretting switching.

The Internet just came back on after being down since about 19:15 MST last night. Let’s see how long it lasts this time. (Prior to that, it was up for about three hours after being down for 22 hours.)

And it’s back! I really hope that it stays on this time. 🤞🏽

If I did the math right, from Friday morning until this afternoon, my Internet was down for a total of around 48 hours or longer. Hopefully it stays stable for the entire day tomorrow and whatever the issue was it has been resolved.

I went over to the T-Mobile store to talk to them about it and of course they couldn’t help me because they only do wireless, despite having T-Fiber advertisements all over the place. They did sell me their backup 5G service for an extra $20 per month, though.

I called T-Fiber’s support line, and they’re going to send a technician out tomorrow morning to look at my connection and equipment, plus they gave me a $20 credit off my next bill.

It appears to have gone down again overnight, possibly about 15 minutes ago.

The tech took a look at the issue this morning and said that she thought the fiber connection at the Network Interface Device (NID) on the exterior of the house was bad, so she respliced the fiber line and reconnected it. Hopefully that fixes the problem. 🤞🏽

Regarding the Home Internet Backup Service, I couldn’t get it working reliably with my work laptop. 😞

@JosephLeedy when i had connection issues like this they had to replace the cable in the attic of the building because it was thermally expanding and contracting too much.
@bobmagicii indeed, she said that the issue had something to do with the cold weather.
