"Pluralism—which I’ll define here as the holding of multiple views and principles at the same time—is what Rabbi Tony Bayfield defines as a 'hallmark' of the Jewish journey. Bayfield points to the fact that there are two non-identical versions of the Ten Commandments, one in Exodus and one in Deuteronomy."

On Jewish pluralism

This is a talk I almost gave

"I think pluralism is one of the most beautiful parts of the American Jewish experience. I also think it invites the following question: If there are many different understandings and versions of what it means to be Jewish in the United States, what do we do when some Jews’ understandings of Jewishness negate others’ Jewish identities?"

@wdlindsy No different than Christians or Muslims. Everyone thinks their sect has the correct belief and understanding. Catholic vs. Protestant. Shia vs.Suni.

@wdlindsy @MrEdgarBass

More different than that, because Christian or Muslim is always a religious identity

While there are many Jews who do not practice any religion... Atheist or agnostics, hey still are jewish

I even have a friend who goes to church, while being Jewish 🤔
