Thinking of adding a sort of #microblog element to my personal site (bcavello.com) because I am finding it intimidating to add new posts because I want to keep my posts section with a level of deep premeditation and polish. But I also have ideas that I often sit on FOR YEARS and it’s frustrating to not have written them down or shared them.
@b_cavello are you open to suggestions?
@copiesofcopies Please! I’d welcome advice both from a user experience/reader perspective as well as different tools and approaches.
I’m currently using #Publii for CMS on the regular blog side of things, and I’d mostly imagined just doing more of that, but welcome ideas.
Also if you have thoughts on the “just getting yourself to do it” front, that’s also something I’d be delighted to hear from others on!
@b_cavello it’s more of the latter 🙂 it really seems like you’re letting perfect be the enemy of good (which I do a lot of). Thoughts: (1) it will probably not bother anyone else to see the different kinds of posts intermixed: (2) it will probably not bug you much in practice; (3) you may be able to tag/categorize them so the “posts” link only takes you to the long form posts; (4) if you don’t like it, you can always pull those posts out after you do the reorg.
@copiesofcopies That’s a good point! It’s not permanent
