True story 🤣

#linux #ubuntu

@itsfoss I'm using Ubuntu and I use flatpak
@clf @itsfoss U totally uninstall everything from snap?
@clf @itsfoss That's just Linux Mint with extra steps
@itsfoss, I love flatpak but has its own limitations. Nothing wrong in using snap for certain applications that are unavailable in flathub.
@ppulfer @itsfoss That must be rare 😆, seem the inverse for me, no snap, flatpack has it. Waiting for the LTS to drop support and I'll move to an other distro on my old tower
@itsfoss When will they learn. No one wants snaps anymore. Flatpak is the way going forward.

@marco_martins @itsfoss
Or deb packages.

I don't like updates that work without an admin password or packages that mysteriously install for only one user.

@raymaccarthy @marco_martins @itsfoss I would actually prefer if you could just install packages for the user via apt/dnf/zypper etc. It would be significant safer.
I think in this most package-manager are lacking. Still prefer them over flatpak/snap/app-image nothing the less
@itsfoss I uninstalled snap and never missed it. Will switch to debian once LTS support runs out.
Just good old deb packages and a few AppImage for me.
@rabadi that's the way
@itsfoss for my brother I chose the first option. Before I even gave him his Kubuntu install I removed snaps and added flatpaks. Although the default source are still deb because he doesn't want frequent updates.
