Wow! That's coming from Excel.

I had to check LibreOffice and it works as expected.

Nearly everyone I try to get to use LibreOffice instead of MS Office complain about it's appearance. Maybe the fact that Excel is broken (and Word's inability to leave an image where you put it) will change minds.
