I don't think I spoil very major plot points, but still, I'd hold it in your back pocket until you watch the series.

I will say, without spoilers, that if you can get past S1E05, you're pretty much golden. That episode was the worst of it.

Obtaining it without getting a streaming service or intentionally trying to seek it out feels like a long-shot though. The only Star Trek thing I've found that way so far was the first J.J. Abrams movie.

It's possible my family would want to watch it and I'd watch it with them, since my cousins are apparently watching through all the Star Trek series', maybe that would inspire my parents, I dunno.

If your parents grew up on ST:TNG like me, they'll love season 3. And you can almost watch each season as a stand-alone show, but not entirely.

Mmmm, I don't think either has seen much Star Trek. A couple of the movies, maybe.
