A Welsh sunrise for #MinimalismMonday

#StoryTime

A few years back I was inexplicably awake at sunrise so l said to myself "Self, why not Carpe the fuck out of the Diem?" So I headed on down to y traeth (that's Welsh for "the beach") with my camera in hand.

I got out of the car and marveled at the quiet and the beauty. I felt a calm come over me and connected with a feeling of serenity and oneness with the universe.

All of that happened in the blink of an eye... In the 2.6 seconds that it took for me to walk into a big fucking hole in the sand and twist the living shit out of the one good ankle I had (I had, at that time, sprained my *other* ankle quite badly shortly before this).

After which, feeling lightheaded, I sat my ass on the cold, hard, damp sand, had an expletive laden rant, and reminded myself of my mantra in life: It's always safe under the blankie. So I went back home and got back into bed with a pillow and an ice pack.

Anyway, here's a fucking picture of the fucking beach at daybreak. Savour this shit because I suffered for this shot.
