#lazytwitter I am hunting for an app where I can draw basic plans one or both of a granny flat, and the garden design that’s in my head. I’m not beyond doing this on paper or generic drawing app, but I thought there would be something for simple sketching. Anyone used anything that works?
@corduroy I use sketchup for this, but an old old version from before the licensing costs....
@corduroy I've used Sweet Home 3D for a number of years. Was a one-off cost on the Mac App Store but it seems to have gone to a subscription model there now. However, looks like you can get it free at https://www.sweethome3d.com

@corduroy if you're on mac, freeform.
@bartreardon yeah that is an option I’ll explore

@corduroy I used Inkscape to prepare sketch plans for our garage + landscaping. Which I then improved on (with my improved Inkscape skillz) to make them suitable for submitting to Council for approval (actual builders’ plans were also required, but my concept drawings were sufficient for some parts; even the diagram that proved you could actually get a car into the garage).

In short: if it really is just a sketch, you can do a lot with coloured rectangles and ellipses.

@corduroy It did get *quite* involved by the end.
