Every time I watch #StarTrek S02 / E15, Trouble with Tribbles, I feel compelled to switch over and watch the Deep Space Nine tribble episode, which is a technical tour de force and, for my money, even more fun.

What a cheap looking set, though. Oof.
DS9 s05/e06
They do such a good job of mimicking the brighter TOS light (and all the set details, for that matter). I think they even darken the non-Enterprise stuff for contrast.
Not that the costumes in DS9 weren't completely absurd at times, but for some reason seeing the TOS costumes referenced in DS9 makes them look even wilder.
God, this must have been so much fun for lighting, costuming, and set crews. Look at this grate.
I can't believe Bashir was trying to find a pretext to sleep with his grandmother. Like, he’s saying 1) she couldn’t have slept with anyone else but himself in her whole life, 2) he’s fine with being his own grandfather if he can sleep with her, and 3) the part about sleeping with his grandmother doesn’t even bother him.
Avery Brooks is such an orator. He recites every line of dialogue as if he's reading an audiobook. (Not always a compliment.)
I have such a powerful inclination to just keep going with DS9 now. I know not all episodes are as fun as this one. But I miss it nonetheless.
@howtophil One of my favorite things about Trek fandom is the post facto, in-world explanations for stuff that writers and crews were simply too lazy to worry about. Trek fans do it naturally. It’s hilarious to me.
Your excuse for Bashir is a prime example. :)
