Linux phones are literally cool. Look at GNOME. It’s really great on phones. I would have full harmony with my Linux desktop and tablet, and the apps are already good enough for daily use.
However, my main problem with Linux phones is NFC support, banking apps, and Google Pay, because these are my daily needs. I want to switch to a Linux phone when these problems are properly solved.

@subhanqedirli I had the same problem and initially solved it by running apps that don't work on Linux (basically just banking and WhatsApp) on a second smartphone running GraphenOS. Instead of GPay, I'm using my physical credit card again, and for WhatsApp, I use a Matrix Bridge.
@sequencode Yes, it's possible too. But I think 2 phones is not real solution, it's not practical and economically viable.
@subhanqedirli I agree with you there. But many people are waiting for the industry to port their apps to a system that lacks users because the apps are missing. Chicken and egg problem.
@sequencode what about solutions like Waydroid and etc. Do they work with banking apps?

@subhanqedirli @sequencode
My banking app treats Waydroid like a rooted Android phone, by refusing to work. (This is in UbuntuTouch.) I'd hope that if Linux or AOSP phones became as popular as Google Android or Apple phones, the banks might see the need for their apps to work on rooted phones, not see them as a security risk. But internet banking works fine.

Google Pay is by definition not possible with a de-Googled phone.

@ancientsounds @sequencode I will try in my banking app too. Unfortunately my bank doesn't have web app.

@subhanqedirli @sequencode
Does it have banking via a conventional web site? Perhaps not as fully-featured as a bank app, in my experience, but still usable for certain transactions.

#UbuntuTouch has an app called Webber that creates a half-decent webapp from any web page.

@ancientsounds @subhanqedirli Yes, but you need the banking app because it serves as 2FA.

@sequencode @subhanqedirli

Ah, I see. Some banks do 2FA by text or an automated call (I suppose it varies across countries and banks)
