This punishment on such an individual by the majority is enough for him, so that now instead you should rather forgive and comfort him. This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair (2 Corinthians 2:6-7).

Someone among the Corinthian #Christians had #sinned. #Paul had written to them to deal with that situation.  Most of the Corinthian Christians had put him under #discipline

Paul now wrote to them to #forgive, #comfort, and #restore this offending Christian, for he had suffered enough.

There are times and situations in which churches do well to enact discipline against a #wayward member.

But there also are times and situations when churches need to restore, love, and comfort those who had been wayward.

What lessons can we gain from Paul's counsel to the Corinthian Christians?
