I've bought an unusual orchid with colors I haven't seen before. The label says "dendrobium yellow splash". You can see it in pic 1 below.

The yellow is a green-yellow, and the purple also has a bit of a greenish tinge. Dendrobiums do well at my place (in the trees), it's a large plant, and it cost $11. So for that amount, I thought it would be worth it to get a plant with colors I hadn't seen before (I've been exposed to a fairly large variety of orchids).

So it's home with me now. I'm enjoying the colors and will start to look for a place for it (to transplant once it's done flowering).

What do you all think? Have you seen an orchid like this before?

Also, bonus photo (pic 2) is an orchid that I got some time ago that's blooming again. I love the bright, rich pink of it! ☺️

@mk30 i gotta get into orchids asap!
@SnakeOilSalesman i don't know, friend. you might end up with a lot of orchids (or a lot of disappointment! if you don't have good conditions for them to grow).
@mk30 i'm going down the rabbit holes of philodendrons and anthuriums right now. i dont know if i have enough money for orchids 😂
@SnakeOilSalesman what part of the world do you live in? (wondering about what kind of climate you live in)
@mk30 i live in the tropics. how about you?
@SnakeOilSalesman oh, good! same. i live on the east side of hawai'i island, so it's a wet tropical area. are you wet tropical or dry tropical or something else?
