Tell DuckDuckGo where you stand on AI.

@clacksee Now… if only they were from somewhere else 😥
That’s what prevents me from using it.
@clacksee I use Ecosia :-)
My browser doesn’t support setting alternate search engines as a default 😥
I really wish they changed that!
@[email protected] One of the rare non-Blink/Chrome ones: Safari
@EdwinG ah yes, the Internet Explorer 6 of the 2020s, I've heard it called!
Are you also on an older version of OS X?
@fluidlogic The current version.
We need variety. And there are only three browser engines that I know: Google (Blink), Mozilla (Gecko) and Apple (WebKit).
Most run on Blink, like Brave, Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi…
@fluidlogic It’s the first time I hear of them… and they seem not advanced enough for daily use 😥
And Ladybird is a USA organization
@EdwinG yes. I don't know where the majority of Servo devs reside; I assume they're also based in the US.
To be clear, even if the Ladybird team were based in Europe, I wouldn't adopt their software, because of their politics.
It's a sad situation that we even have to make such considerations about the software we use.
Numbers seem to match across the two pages. I suspect it’s actually the same on the back end.
Vote: "404 Not Found"
@clacksee
Another binary-stupid vote
How about: “I want to see well-designed resource-optimized AI (machine learning) that doesn't get in the way and actively cuts down on the slop”?
But NO, only total hate and total love on the menu, of course!
This was a post about internet communication at large.
I hope they'll consider changing the default to "no AI". I find it infuriating that synthetic text gets in my way when I accidentally hit the default ddg page (without noai.) now ...
