From degraded land to thriving forest 💚
This was Ecosia’s very first planting site in Brazil. What was once degraded land is now regenerating into a young forest — 17,986 trees planted together with The Nature Conservancy.

Meet Hassam. He’s been farming this land in Kamonyi District, Rwanda, since 1996.
He grows bananas, beans and maize — and since 2021, has been planting trees across his farm with support from One Acre Fund and Ecosia. Over time, they’ve improved his soil and helped increase his harvests 🌱
More reliable yields mean more dependable income. Hassam invests that in goats — building security for his family and strengthening his livelihood.
