@Strandjunker this is a very limited perspective you have, but not necessarily an entirely wrong one.
The idea that nobody's doing anything is simply ignoring the reality on the ground. Even now, places like Minneapolis are doing things. America is a big place, and larger than Europe. It doesn't work the same way here that it works everywhere else, simply based on size.
We know the answer to this one already
Germans did not do anything about Hitler because the wealthy & influential didn't want to pay taxes, refused to fix a financial mess they made, refused to pay war debts for the conquests & looting they demanded
Instead they ginned up hate campaigns & more wars
Billionaires & bigots, the forever alliance made in hell

I can think of a few reasons re: Germany and several have to do with the Social Democrats.
As in any country, there is always resistance.
I previously posted a photo of the Edelweiss Pirates who opposed Hitler, and this user @amszmidt blocked me. Perhaps he doesn't read much about history.
@Strandjunker “Such a splendid sunny day, and I have to go. But how many have to die on the battlefield in these days, how many young, promising lives... What does my death matter if by our acts thousands are warned and alerted. Among the student body there will certainly be a revolt.”
Sophie Scholl. As quoted by Else Gebel, in letter to Robert Scholl (November, 1946).
“I’m not mad at you.”
