Icons were supposed to represent their app.

The original used to always be a framed Platinum Record. But now, what the hell is this?

A random circle? A CD? A record? An Identity Disk as those found in Tron?

Shit is so abstract that it no longer serves its purpose as an app icon.

Man… designers in Cupertino really lost the plot on something as simple as app icons. Making design systems that only hurt everyone with fake ass constraints that don’t need to exist.

@marioguzman Yeah, I don’t get what’s going on. Apple’s design work used to be the benchmark we all aimed for. I hope things turn around in 2026.
