@SherBeareth I brag to my wife when someone likes boosts my posts. She thinks I'm an adorable idiot.

@Longspeak

I used to tell my cat if there was unusual attention taking place.

@SherBeareth I've done that. Predictably, Cappuccino was not impressed.

@Longspeak

They rarely are, the felines. 😉

And of course they need volumes of exuberant praise.

@SherBeareth Cappuccino was indifferent to praise from an inconsequential mortal such as I. He only expected, and demanded, his tribute of pets, wet food, treats, and scritches behind his ears.

I miss that asshole.

@Longspeak

I lost my Tuxxie William last month, he was 14. I was in a long hospital admission and he became ill and died before I
could get home. He was a sweetheart rescue. They sure do leave a big hole in our hearts. 🌈

@SherBeareth :( Cappuccino was was rescue, too. Skittish and standoffish for a year after we brought him home. He'd only sit in my wife's lap unless she wasn't around and he got desperate for... I dunno. Warmth? Pets? Security? Then he'd crawl into my lap or my son's. But never us if my Wife was around.

@Longspeak

It’s funny how they choose a person to be physically close to. I had a Siamese long ago who would only grace my Mom’s lap when she was reading in her easy chair. He did give me hugs, though.

Life is simply better with cats.

@SherBeareth Cappuccino was a Lilac Point Siamese. Beautiful and he fucking knew it!

And you're right, but it makes it worse when they're gone.
