We’re looking for an exceptional scientist/engineer to bridge microfabrication and medical device packaging. This role owns the development and optimization of the critical interfaces between micromachined components (produced by precise micromachining, semiconductor fab, and/or MEMS fab) where performance is often won or lost. 🔬 What You’ll Do Lead development of wafer-level and die-level bonding of heterogeneous materials. -- Processes include but not limited to: fusion, anodic, eutectic, TLP, diffusion, and laser-assisted bonding processes. Lead characterization of interface integrity via optical, electron microscopic, and mechanical tests. -- Methods include but not limited to: infrared transmission microscopy, SEM/EDS, XPS, SIMS, and pull/peel/shear tests. Perform thermomechanical and structural mechanical simulation using ANSYS / COMSOL. Execute and oversee related cleanroom processes. Work cross-functionally with EE, manufacturing, and external vendors/foundries. 🧠 What We’re Looking For PhD or MS in Materials Science, Microelectronics, Applied Physics, ME, or EE. 5+ years (NOT limited to industry experience) in heterogeneous integration or advanced packaging.
