here's a take: caves and cliffs is literally the best minecraft update ever.
not best version, update, as in, it improved the game more than any other update.
yes, better than infdev, better than beta 1.8.
no i'm not joking.

@lily I don't really like much they do that feels like relaxing their constraints, for the same reason a good horror movie has to stick to its rules. I was dubious even of the Endermen picking up blocks, and the villagers populating a world that seemed more interesting empty.
My favorite mod, in Alpha or Beta I think it was, before villages, filled the world with mysterious, massive, unexplained ruins.
Whatever was implied to be below the bedrock was necessarily cooler than what they added.
Of course, who can forget 2013's 'wonderfully-sickening' hit title "Horse Master: The Game of Horse Mastery"

Truly one of the #orblike games of all time.
Another #orblike that needs to be on this list is "Seedship", which is not a Twine game probably, because it has a .exe you can download.
"Emily is Away" is an AOL Instant Messenger themed #orblike that makes old nerds cry.
Honorable Mention to @alienmelon's "Electric Love Potato", which might or might not be an #orblike, but which is a potato.
