The old #MedMastodon went down suddenly in the last week of December 2025, and I don't have a list of my old followers. Please boost this so they can find me!

This makes me wonder about backing up my posts and comments and contacts from Mastodon. I don't even know how to do it. I'd better look into it!

It turned out to be easier than I expected. It's being compiled now.

I was wondering where people were going! This is my main account, but I had a niche account on med-mastodon and now am wondering what to do.
I am happy with a general science instance, but was also thinking about zeroes.ca, specifically because they are very much a #CovidIsNotOver instance and I thought it would be a good place to find other like-minded community health people.
This feels a bit much to take on right this minute (my world is full of surprises right now & this is the least of my concerns) - but I am happy to see your post and good luck!

@jeneralist I'm so sorry this happened to everyone on that instance. This is my worst nightmare in terms of what could go wrong with my fedi presence. I hope you can find your people again.
I spent a while looking for a good, stable instance with good governance when I settled on my current instance. If anyone is looking for a new home, all are welcome to apply here. We are a democratically governed co-op with elected admins and made solvent though mandatory dues (min £1/month.)

Even if you did have a list of your followers, you still wouldn't be able to make them follow you. You'd have to send them all a DM asking them to follow you at your new instance.
I wonder if there is a program that does this?
