I remember when the FIFA Peace Prize used to mean something
@jerry me too! It meant a brown nose and smell of ๐Ÿ’ฉ all around.
@jerry haven't laughed that hard in awhile, thanks ๐Ÿ˜‚
@jerry It's just like the Nobel Peace Prize, but it it's awarded to those that break peace

@that_lurker @jerry

Yeah but how is it different to the Nobel Peace Prize?

@adamsaidsomething @jerry Well before the recent events the Noble Peace Prize was awarded to the person who had done most for "fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"
@jerry Ibhad never heard of it until Trump
@sonjdol it didnโ€™t exist until a few months ago when the head of FIFA wanted to suck up to Trump.
@jerry @sonjdol Suck up to Trump -> ??? -> Profit
@budgegeria @sonjdol itโ€™s basically a chemical reaction that involves a quantity of gold and proximity to whatever is in that bronzer that results in either presidential pardons or removed regulations.
@jerry Maybe if they had given him the Nobel, then this all wouldn't have happened. So when you really think about it, its Norway's fault.
@jerry It meant โ€œNobel Prize in corruptionโ€ ๐Ÿคฌ

@jerry

LOL.

oh, it still means the same thing... ;)

@jerry

Can we all demand Fifa take the peace prize back?

Because that would be so funny.

@SuperMoosie we could try, but the head of FIFA is a pretty big sycophant for Trump

@jerry There's a fee for phi, when you too often fo fum it.

Seriously; our math as a species is at an all-time low.

@jerry Best post of the day.
@jerry it still means what it did before
@jerry I remember when FIFA used to be something...
@jerry
There are simple mechanisms:
Trump insults you? You did something right.
FIFA awards you a price? You got accepted in the knighthood of the Corruption Brothers.
German banks close your account? You're on the right path.
...
@jerry @Gleisplan das erste mal, dass ich heute lachen musste
@jerry bit of a political football, to be honest.
@jerry @lukito ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
@jerry it still does... Wait until the end of this story.
Was Venezuela already on the shortlist for a WK?

Old Man Screams at Pitch

@jerry It's yet another example of the Sir Humphrey Appleby school of namingโ€ฆ always put the difficult bit in the title, it does less damage there than the text.

In this case, it's a "peace prize" awarded to a warmonger, who happens to be the head of state for a country that calls itself the "United" states of America.

@jerry We found out that the actual Nobel Peace Prize winner is not respected but the FIFA peace prize winner is the most respected. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
@jerry FIFA awarded themselves the Golden Bootlicker
