@georgetakei there's some damning stuff in there as well, not only is most of the redacted stuff protecting co-conspirators and the like, which is explicitly illegal and shows clear perjury from patel, but there's stuff in there which is on the level of most of the people in power should be getting some new striped pajamas for christmas, to wear permanently.

Leaking the material is riskier for the whistleblower, it also risks rumors about it being fake, a "hoax", chinese hackers or whatever diversion they could come up with.
When it's published and announced officially and it later turns out the anonymization was just shoddy, there is not much they can do to spin it.
