I have acquired 4 turbo skeins Knit Picks Brava 500 yarn. two in eggplant and two in mint.
I have knitted a 20x28 test swatch and now plotted out a pattern for a Big-Ass Blanket (also a Big Ass-Blanket). It'll be a stockinette blanket with garter edges striping between the two colors, hopefully to cover a king sized bed.
Now to cast on 540 stitches and start with garter

I have knitted the 4 inches (36 rows) of garter stitch for the Big-Ass Blanket (also: Big Ass-Blanket). It'll be a stockinette blanket with 4" garter edges and 10" striping between the two colors, hopefully to cover a king sized bed.
Now to knit another 4 inches of stockinette (28 rows) with 4 inch (20 stitch) garter edges in the mint color. Then 2" mint and 2" eggplant.
I have knitted another 4 inches (28 rows) of stockinette for the Big-Ass Blanket (also: Big Ass-Blanket). It'll be a stockinette blanket with 4" garter edges and striping between the two colors, hopefully to cover a king sized bed.
Next: another 2 inches (14 rows) in the mint color, then 2 inches again in eggplant.
While the gauge is very accurate for row count, the 118" width shows stitch count gauge was off slightly. I'll keep the extra width because big.

My initial estimates of yarn usage were way short, so I have ordered a bunch more of the Eggplant and some more (expensive) Mint and planned a pattern that uses less mint.
