The line 'the kids all call him Bogey,' in Deacon Blue's Ship Called Dignity is an anachronistic cultural reference in that no way would kids playing in the street in 1987 be making reference to a long-dead film star from the 1940s. It ruins an otherwise good and uplifting song.
