Look, GNOME is really nice* now.

*Extensions required.

Especially Tuba is so nice compared to Tokodon. The latter needs some more love - the developers are doing great work as it is, but it feels like it could use a deft UI designer touch.

Except for the name. Tuba is a shit name with an even shittier icon.

@thomholwerda I always have to install and use both.
Each of them has benefits and disadvantages vs the other.

And agreed. Tuba the name and icon are the worst.

@colinstu Pro-tip: download the Mastodon logo from joinmastodon.org/branding, and use that instead.

@thomholwerda Personally I kinda like the name Tuba. :3 But if it's Gnome I'm not gonna use it (mostly because it'd probably look awful on KDE).

Yeah, tried Tokodon, didn't really like it. I just use the web UI.

@thomholwerda I can't get with Tuba until live feed doesn't cause jump scrolling in the timeline (ie. if a post comes in as you are scrolling towards the top of your timeline, it will jump you there in a very jarring way). If you are a timeline completionist, it's nigh unusable.

Otherwise I'd be happy to use it full time. (even though it scrolls less smoothly than a frameless popped out Firefox window with the web UI too, but that's another topic for another post, and I could live with it)
